Leadership Programs Coordinator- Camp Misty Mountain


Job Summary

The Leadership Programs Coordinator has a vital role at camp... the education and empowerment of our next generation of the camp staff team!  Overseeing the the Wrangler-In-Training & Counselor-In-Training Programs (leadership campers in grades 9-12 along serving as the coordinator of the Junior Staff Development Program (staff members age 16-17).




Duties & Responsibilities

  • Implementation of curriculum on a wide variety of topics (outdoor living skills, games/songs/crafts, teambuilding, positive guidance, professional workplace skills, assorted sports, asset building, etc.) 
  • Lead and inspire, convey a large quantity of information effectively and design and implement nearly 100 hours of curriculum is vital.  
  • Create a high-quality experience, ensuring the emotional and physical safety of their campers and staff, ensuring that the experience is girl driven and girl focused, and working as a leader in the camp community to create a culture of empowerment and enthusiasm for everyone. 

Skills & Experience

  • Previous camp experience. 
  • Previous experience working with young women age 13-17 in Leadership Training. 
  • The ability to teach a wide variety of program and youth development skills as they related to organized camping. 
  • Must have a passion for working with young women in the out of doors! 


  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to evaluate performance and give feedback
  • Ability to make observations and complete paperwork
  • Supervisory experience
  • Maturity in problem solving and decision making
  • First aid and CPR training
  • Provide proof of USA citizenship or appropriate Alien documentation
  • Must be able to complete & clear a Criminal & Sex Offender background check


Physical Working Conditions

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand; walk on uneven surfaces; sit; handle or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell.
  • The employee must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Work is performed in the outdoors with regular exposure to insects and wildlife; weather conditions prevalent at the time (i.e.: heat and humidity, rain and storms); and walking several miles a day at a brisk
  • Noise level is usually minimal to moderate.
