  • Job Summary

    Cabin Leaders will be working throughout the season with a variety of groups and ages in Resident Camp, Troop Camp and Family Camp situations.  With offerings ranging from horseback riding, swimming and boating, drama and music, cooking, outdoor living skills and more, the Unit Leader should be prepared to learn new skills and experience a wide variety of ages and activities in their role.  Must have a passion for working with young women in the out of doors! 


    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Support and supervise 1-3 “Patrols”, totalling 8-24 campers of assorted ages, and 1-5 members of staff and Leadership Campers in all aspects of daily life at camp. 
    • Assist counsellors create a high-quality experience, ensuring the emotional and physical safety of their campers and staff, ensuring that the experience is girl driven and girl focused, and working as a leader in the camp community to create a culture of empowerment and enthusiasm for everyone! 
    • Leading lessons in riding, horse-care and stable management. 
    • Ensure the highest standards of safety and quality programming are met in the ring, during horse care, and while involved in trail riding.



    Skills & Experience


    • Good communication skills
    • Ability to evaluate performance and give feedback
    • Ability to make observations and complete paperwork
    • Supervisory experience
    • Maturity in problem solving and decision making
    • First aid and CPR training
    • Provide proof of USA citizenship or appropriate Alien documentation
    • Must be able to complete & clear a Criminal & Sex Offender background check


    Physical Working Conditions

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand; walk on uneven surfaces; sit; handle or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell.
    • The employee must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
    • Work is performed in the outdoors with regular exposure to insects and wildlife; weather conditions prevalent at the time (i.e.: heat and humidity, rain and storms); and walking several miles a day at a brisk
    • Noise level is usually minimal to moderate.
