We have 270 acres of rolling hills, wooded areas, and beautiful scenery that is just an hour drive from Atlanta near Newnan, GA. We are a true camp complete with a lake for canoes, kayaks and paddleboards; archery; challenge course; climbing wall, dual zip lines; flying squirrel; miles of hiking trails; arts and crafts facility; large swimming pool and climate controlled cabins and dining hall.  During the summer we operate a premier overnight summer camp in Southwest Georgia for girls 2nd-12th grade.


    We are looking for dynamic people to provide a top rate camping experience for young girls.  All staff will live and work on camp starting the end of May until the end of July. Staff will we assigned a group 8-10 girls weekly they are responsible for during group times and then will teach 5 activities of their interest during the day. A typical week for staff begins Sunday afternoon when a session begins until Saturday morning when a session wraps up. Staff can expect 2-3 hours each evening and this changes based on evening program with the girls. Staff can expect to have Saturday’s off and Sunday mornings each week. Staff applying should have a willingness to do whatever it takes to ensure the girls have a fantastic time while at camp and be 100% girl focused while in your care!


    The Aquatics Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the aquatics program at camp.  S/he will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality programming are met in both pool and lake environments. 

    Duties & Responsibilities


    • Participate in leadership team training prior to camp.
    • Help plan, implement and conduct staff training and orientation with Leadership Team.
    • Supervise, guide and evaluate unit counselors in the area of Aquatics with the Camp Director.
    • Coordinate Watcher Training for entire camp staff during staff training and initial lifeguard skills assessment during staff training.
    • Responsible for all aspects of the aquatics program at camp.
    • Responsible for ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality programming are bet in both pool and lake environments.
    • Must have the ability to train and supervise staff and campers in the areas of swimming, canoeing, kayaking, and swim lessons.
    • Coordinate professional development every other week for all lifeguard/aquatics trained staff in the areas of safety, rescues, and other professional development exercise as deemed necessary.
    • Serve as a role model and guide campers in appropriate behaviors, language, attitudes, and activities.
    • Facilitate communication, conflict resolution and problem solving within the campers and staff on the challenge course.
    • Help girls and staff develop individual responsibility.
    • Keep their supervisor informed of plans, problems and concerns pertinent to aquatic areas.
    • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

    Skills & Experience


    • At least 6 weeks experience of managing lifeguard and/or willingness to complete the ARC Lifeguard Management course
    • Current lifeguard certification, including CPR/FA/AED
    • Certification and or ability to complete the ARC Small Craft Safety or equivalent boating course
    • At least 1 year experience of lifeguarding in a similar aquatic environment
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to evaluate performance and give feedback
    • Ability to make observations and complete paperwork
    • Maturity in problem solving and decision making
    • Good health and stamina necessary to live in the camp setting
    • Ability to make decisions and act wisely in an emergency
    • Understanding of the needs, abilities and interests of girls
    • Preferred minimum age 21 with no experience; age 20 with experience
    • Current certification in First Aid and community CPR
    • Provide proof of USA citizenship or appropriate Alien documentation
    • Must be able to complete & clear a MVR, and Criminal background check.
