Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta is seeking part-time (weekend) Outdoor Program Specialists for Camp Misty Mountain located in Armuchee, GA. These individuals generally have the opportunities to work 2-4 weekends per month providing exceptional program activities and customer service.
The Camp & Event Coordinators work alongside the Camp Director and Equine Director as the Camp Administrative Team (CATeam) in all aspects of camp management including program design and implementation, staff supervision and support, operational functions, licensing and accreditation and all other facets of camp leadership. Members of the CATeam must be motivated, professional leaders and comfortable in both a cooperative team-focused environment and be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, emotionally-charged environment.
The purpose of a Camp & Event Coordinator is to have the skills, knowledge, and abilities to manage Camp Misty Mountain programs, activities, and/or events as the senior staff member “in charge” in the absence of the Camp Director or other member of the leadership team.
In addition, this role includes all the functions of a Program Facilitator, which includes have the opportunity to receive training (and possibly certification) in a wide range of sports and activities and gain immense amounts of leadership and facilitation experience. This is an ideal role for individuals seeking to expand their skills in customer service, youth leadership, experiential education, curriculum design, and environmental education.
