    Looking for a place to make a difference and spend your summer outside? Do you have a passion for summer camp, high adventure, crafts, outdoor skills, STEM or empowering girls, teens and young women then Camp Misty Mountain is for you! We have 1,000 wooded acres in the mountains of Northwest Ga area. We are a true camp complete with a lake for canoe, kayak, paddleboards, windsurfing; shooting sports; challenge course; miles of hiking trails; arts and crafts; large swimming pool and climate controlled cabins and dining hall. 

     

    During the summer we operate a premiere residential program for 2nd-12th graders. All staff will live and work on camp starting the end of May until the beginning of August. Staff will be assigned a group 8-10 girls weekly that they are responsible for during group times and will then teach 5 activities of their interest during the day. In the evenings we will spend time with our friends around the campfire, or at a pool party, or show off our talents at the amphitheater. Staff can expect to have from Saturday at noon through Sunday at noon off each week. Staff applying should have a willingness to do whatever it takes to ensure the girls have a fantastic time while at camp and be 100% girl focused while in your care!

    Duties & Responsibilities

     

    • Manage Health Center including maintaining all records and documentation in Camp Minder
    • Screen incoming campers records and make notes -if incomplete call parents
    • Collect medications at check in
    •  Document and administer medications to camper during their stay at camp
    • Schedule appointments and transportation to clinic as necessary
    • Administer cleanliness and safety inspection system and health related programs as requested
    • Care for campers and staff housed in the Health Center due to illness/injury and provide first aid as needed
    • Assure that all operations follow ACA and Camp guidelines.
    • Maintain and submit all required records.
    • Evaluate current season and make recommendations for equipment, supplies, and program for following season(s).
    • Other duties as requested by the Camp Leadership Team.

    Skills & Experience

    • Must be currently certified in first aid and CPR
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills
    • Ability to communicate clearly
    • Ability to operate telephone, computer (Microsoft programs), fax and copy machines
    • Ability to work as part of a team
    • Ability to lift 25 pounds
    • Ability to make decisions and act wisely in an emergency
    • Understanding of the needs, abilities and interests of girls
    • Preferred minimum age 21, High School graduate
    • Provide proof of USA citizenship or appropriate Alien documentation
    • Must be able to complete & clear a Criminal, and Sex Offender background check

     

    Essential Functions

    • Ability to traverse rough and uneven terrain
    • Ability to walk to and from activities (2-5 miles per day)
    • Experience working with children
    • Stamina to live in an outdoor setting

     

    Physical Working Conditions

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand; walk on uneven surfaces; sit; handle or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell.
    • Work is performed in the outdoors with regular exposure to insects and wildlife; weather conditions prevalent at the time; and walking several miles a day at a brisk pace.
    • Noise level is usually minimal to moderate
