    Looking for a place to make a difference and spend your summer outside? Do you have a passion for summer camp, high adventure, crafts, outdoor skills, STEM or empowering girls, teens and young women then Camp Timber Ridge is for you! We have 240 wooded acres right outside the city center of Atlanta in Mableton/Smyrna Ga area. We are a true camp complete with a lake for canoe, kayak and paddleboards; archery; challenge course; zip line; giant swing; miles of hiking trails; arts and crafts; large swimming pool and climate-controlled cabins and dining hall.  During the summer we operate a premier day camp in the Atlanta area for girls PreK-9th grade and a residential program for teens 9th-12th grade.


    All staff will live and work on camp starting the end of May until the start of August. As a Program Coordinator you will supervise a group of counselors. You will also be responsible for an activity area, ensuring quality programs are provided to our girls. After we receive your application we will discuss which program area you are qualified for.

    A typical day for staff begins a little before 7 am and wraps up around 7pm except for overnight nights. Staff can expect 2 hours off each evening. Staff can expect to have Saturday’s off and Sunday mornings each week. Staff applying should have a willingness to do whatever it takes to ensure the girls have a fantastic time while at camp and be 100% girl focused while in your care!

    Duties & Responsibilities

    1. Participate in Supervisor training prior to camp.
    2. Help plan, implement and conduct staff training and orientation with Leadership Team.
    3. Supervise, guide and evaluate unit counselors in your assigned program area with the Camp Director.
    4. Coordinate training with interested camp staff on activities we will be offering campers weekly
    5. Coordinate in-service every Sunday night for staff leading programs that week to ensure they are all on the same page and ready to teach campers
    6. Create lesson plans, orders of supplies and needs for programing with camp Leadership teams
    7. Responsible for all aspects a program area at camp
    8. Responsible for ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality programming in the assigned area.
    9. Must have the ability to train and supervise staff and campers to safely use specialized equipment.
    10. Take pictures for website
    11. Serve as a role model and guide campers in appropriate behaviors, language, attitudes, and activities.
    12. Maintain child’s self-esteem (are not demeaning in their feedback to a child (i.e. no taunting or teasing of children who learn or move more slowly)
    13. Facilitate communication, conflict resolution and problem solving within the campers and staff on the challenge course.
    14. Help girls and staff develop individual responsibility.
    15. Keep their supervisor informed of plans, problems and concerns pertinent to challenge course operation.
    16. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

    Skills & Experience

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to evaluate performance and give feedback
    • Ability to make observations and complete paperwork
    • Maturity in problem solving and decision making
    • Good health and stamina necessary to live in the camp setting
    • Ability to make decisions and act wisely in an emergency
    • Understanding of the needs, abilities and interests of girls
    • Preferred minimum age 18 with no experience
    • Current certification in First Aid and community CPR
    • Possess or be willing to acquire other certifications as needed for program area.
    • Provide proof of USA citizenship or appropriate Alien documentation
    • Must be able to complete & clear a Criminal, and Sex Offender background check
