    Looking for a place to make a difference and spend your summer outside? Do you have a passion for summer camp, high adventure, crafts, outdoor skills, STEM or empowering girls, teens and young women then Camp Timber Ridge is for you! We have 240 wooded acres right outside the city center of Atlanta in Mableton/Smyrna Ga area. We are a true camp complete with a lake for canoe, kayak and paddleboards; archery; challenge course; zip line; giant swing; miles of hiking trails; arts and crafts; large swimming pool and climate-controlled cabins and dining hall.  During the summer we operate a premier day camp in the Atlanta area for girls PreK-9th grade and a residential program for teens 9th-12th grade.

     

    All staff will live and work on camp starting the end of May until the start of August. As part of the transportation team, you will ride to and from camp each day with campers. You will be responsible for insuring the proper paperwork is complete and campers are released to the correct adults. You will also keep in touch with parents and camp leadership to insure everyone knows when the vehicle will arrive. Once you and the campers arrive at camp, you will provide camp program.

     

    A typical day for staff begins a little before 7 am and wraps up around 7pm except for overnight nights. Staff can expect 2 hours off each evening. Staff can expect to have Saturday’s off and Sunday mornings each week. Staff applying should have a willingness to do whatever it takes to ensure the girls have a fantastic time while at camp and be 100% girl focused while in your care!

    Duties & Responsibilities

    1. Supervise campers on busses.
    2. Check campers in and out to correct adults and keep proper documentation.
    3. Respond to issues and keep leadership team informed.
    4. Communicate bus location to parents.
    5. Responsible for assigned campers.
    6. Participate in programs and activities with campers giving adult guidance and leadership.
    7. Interpret and administer personnel policies as well as Safety-Wise, ACA and Camp guidelines.
    8. See that activities are carried out in a manner consistent with Safety-Wise and good judgment.
    9. Use girl planning to help the girls plan and carry out the unit program.
    10. Act as a camptivity leader in a variety of program areas. (i.e. weird science, drama, sports, archery, etc.)
    11. Serve as a role model and guide campers in appropriate behaviors, language, attitudes, and activities.
    12. Help girls live and work together as a unit.
    13. Facilitate communication, conflict resolution and problem solving within the unit.
    14. Help girls develop individual responsibility.
    15. Keep their supervisor informed of plans, problems and concerns pertinent to unit operation.
    16. Be aware of the ongoing medical needs of campers.
    17. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

    Skills & Experience

    Qualifications

    • Good health and stamina necessary to live in the camp setting
    • Ability to make decisions and act wisely in an emergency
    • Understanding of the needs, abilities and interests of girls
    • Current certification in First Aid and community CPR
    • Preferred minimum age 21, High School graduate
    • Provide proof of USA citizenship or appropriate Alien documentation
    • Must be able to complete & clear a Criminal, and Sex Offender background check
